However, about a month ago, apparently the gambling firm gave some money to charity in exchange for Kanoute wearing the sponsored shirt.
Regardless, I was just interested in how many teams out there are sponsored by companies that go against these principles and if there are any other players out there who have refused to wear the sponsor's name on their shirts. I just thought it could make for interesting scenarios in the future. i.e Teams not buying players because of their sponsor, a team gets interested in a player but the player won't join and the sponsors won't give in and yet there's still a few years left on the deal, Teams may run into advantages due to their sponsors etc.
Then again, I hear sponsorship by some if not all of those things are banned in some countries anyway....
