Sony stop PSP

My Birthday is in 6 days now and asked my mum for a PSP. She went into a load of shops and came back saying that Sony have stopped PSPs. At the moment we don't know if it's permanent but shops have sold out and havn't been given an order date at all. Everything has gone silent.

Has there been problems with the PSP like there was with the PS2 when that first came out ?

Re: Sony stop PSP

this has to be from you doesn't it

The simple thing is they can't make them fast enough. And shops are unsure when their next batch will come in.

Re: Sony stop PSP

*sigh* Hickman, do you honestly beleive Sony have stopped selling a product which keeps on selling out? The fact is, like i said they are selling out quicker than they are produced / dispatched.

Re: Sony stop PSP

I know people that have only recently got one, and pre-ordered one. There's that much of a demand in certain places. Some areas of the country have them in stock, most don't. Bit late to leave it though isn't it? 6 days before.

6 days is plenty of time IMO to get a prezzi. I will just have to wait then until they get them in Keighley again.

Re: Sony stop PSP

Odd, probably because it's selling really well or something. Either that or there is a bug in the production machine.

Re: Sony stop PSP

here's something PSP related to make you laugh

A Kotaku tipster dropped word that EB Games and Gamestop employees were told to send any used memory cards to their head office. The reason? It might have “inappropriate contents.”

It seems a coupla parents bought used PSPs and little Johnny got an eye-full. The unerased memory stick was full of hardcore fun. The complaints have been heard throughout the company.

Do everyone at EB and Gamestop a favor. If you are going to sell your PSP, remember to clear the nasty stuff from the memory stick. Thanks.

Re: Sony stop PSP

Re: Sony stop PSP

One word:

EBAY!

It's got more PSP's on it than probably any other retailer out there, the place is constantly loaded with people selling PSP units, with some interesting packages too. Don't wait around for the shops to get stock back in, because if our Currys branch is anything to go by, any new stock they do get wil be gone within 5 minutes. We got 4 new PSP's in the other week, and they were snaffled by customers off my trolley before i could get from the warehouse to customer services..

Re: Sony stop PSP

Yes you can play English games on a Japanese PSP, but movies are region coded so you wont be able to play Region 2 UMD's on your PSP..

Re: Sony stop PSP

Don't get a JAP one for the what chapps said, plus, the JAP's psp screen is made by sharp, meaning that the screen is not better than the UK's version. I think the UK versions are samsung screens... If you buy a JAP version, the firmware will be 1.50, however if you buy the UK's version, the firmware will be 1.52. There will be a disc within the package (demo disc) which allows you to upgrade the firmware to 2.00.

I suppose that don't really matter because if you get a JAP version you could just still upgrade from the offical playstaion site, unless your interested in homebrew.....
